Taylor
In 1876, the city of Taylor was founded. The city was named after Edward Moses Taylor, a railroad official; it was given the name Taylorsville and officially became Taylor in 1892. Immigrants from Czechoslovakia and other Slavic states, as well as from Germany and Austria, helped establish the town.
Taylor can be found about 35 miles north-east of Austin. Taylor is one of the few towns in the area that has not grown together with Austin. With its wide variety of amenities, it offers a great place to raise a family.
