
The south side of Down Town is considered the artistic and creative part of Austin. The more sophisticated clubs and restaurants are found in the area. You can also find several unique stores such as "Bead-It" and "Lucy in Disguise With Diamonds".
The Austin International airport is only minutes away and if you want to swim, head down to the Barton Springs Pool. With Lake Travis at only 25 miles away, you can go boating, enjoy excellent fishing, golf and camping, and of course, the ability to enjoy water sports on the lake nearly year round.
South Lamar
S. Lamar is the south side of Austin Down Town. The area features several live-music revenues and is the hub for most local talent. Only minutes from recreational facilities, restaurants and the river, you should always have something to do. Zilker Park, which holds the Barton Springs Pool, Zilker Botanical Garden, soccer fields and a disc-golf course, is located in between Lamar and Mopac.
S. Congress Ave and S. 1st St running parallel to S Lamar, both homes to spectacular and original stores and restaurants. Taco Xpress (Maria's Taco) is an experience out of the ordinary. On Sunday mornings they have a live gospel band and great tacos. You can also find the two famous music revenues "The Continental Club" on S. Congress and "The Saxon Pub" on S.Lamar
