Manor
Manor was so named in 1872 after the town's original Postmaster James Manor. Manor is located 14 miles west of Austin, which makes it ideal for commuting. With the newly built 130/45 toll road, Manor is now closer to Austin than ever before. Only minutes from both the airport and down town, it is a great inexpensive town to live in.
The film What's Eating Gilbert Grape was filmed in Manor. In addition, Friday night lights used the Manor Mustang football field and parts of twister were filmed in Manor. Manor also features the Shadow Glen Golf Club, an astonishing 18-hole course situated in the center of the town.
