We're home to several entertainment districts, from the high-energy pubs and clubs of Sixth Street to the laid-back vibe of South Congress and the artistic scene on our city's east side. Open every night of the week and with college specials on Thursdays, Sixth Street is popular amongst university students as well as the native austinites.

 

And of course, on any day at almost any time, you can catch a live show at one of nearly 200 live music venues around town. With the famous musical venues "Continental Club" and "Saxon Pub" which features live music every day of the week, South Congress is the "hub" for the music scene in Austin

Our artistic side is alive and well in Austin. In fact, it surrounds us. We are a creative community filled with designers, painters, sculptors, dancers, filmmakers and musicians. We're not called The Live Music Capital of the World® for nothing. But that's not all there is to do once the sun sets in Austin.

 

The Colorado river runs right through the city and creates a beautiful scenery along the Town Lake with a great bike and running track. When the weather allows it, a trip out to the Guadalupe river (located about 30 miles south of Austin) or the Comal river (45 miles south of Austin). Both rivers features "Tubing", which is a relaxing ride down stream with your friends and a cooler full of beverages.
